Hi everyone,
Just another update, Lilly was talked to by a 'horse whisperer' because i thought it would be fun to get a new insight on her life and how she feels other than the scientific stuff. Her name was Karin O'Neil and she was GREAT, really nice information and it helped a lot. Lilly is getting shoes next week, or the week after, just on the front but i think she will like having them. Also, Lilly is almost entirely shed out just probably another week and a bath she will be all golden again! She should be expecting a new saddle soon also, since i have finally excepted that hers does not fit her at all and its now too old to bother trying to fix it to fix her. So for the past week and a half we have been going bareback which may not be the nest thing because her first show is in about a month and if we don't have a saddle, i don't know what we are going to do! But thats ok, it will work itself out. She also needs a new hard brush, her favorite one is getting frayed. So the owner of the place she boards at now is leaving at the end of the summer, and so i needed a new place to keep Lilly after that. So my dad pitched in the idea of building a little run in behind our house (we have plenty of space) and so thats where she is going to live the rest of my high school years and maybe some summers!

Lilly, Spring is Coming!

My last post was just on the edge of winter. Since then me and Lilly have been through and learned a lot. Lilly filled out a lot and actually has some meat on her skinny bones. She still has a small chest, but her barrel has widened, and with that she has become more balanced, over jumps and on the flat. We started practicing flying lead changes, which she did not know, in the beginning of January, she didnt like then much. But then she was off for about a month (Feb) which was filled with on and off riding. In the end she saw the vet and was put on a bute trial, and at the end of the week, she was all better! We are now back in training and doing flat work, with usually one lead change per ride. Lilly is as happy as ever! She has also started her spring shedding and her golden summer coat is starting to shine through her thick winter fur!

Lilly is my pony, she is four years old. She is a Saddlebred X Appi, her sire is a palomino, and her dam is a learpoard appi. She got her sire's flashy looks. I bought her as a three year old and taught her everything she knows now. She has been to 5 shows and she has done great in all of them! I love her to death and this is just a little file of her life, mostly shows and big events! Shes my baby... always and we are 10 years apart, plus minus a few years. I love Lilly! :)
